Cryogenic treating will increase the useable life of your rotors by 100% to 300% and typically increase the life of your brake pads by 10% - 50%.
No. All brake pads work fine and will actually last longer. We carry a variety of brake pads for different applications.
No. There is no significant advantage to having your brake pads treated.
No. We only treat new rotors. Cryogenic treating of used rotors is not a recommended procedure as internal micro cracks may have already started.
Yes. However the probability is we can provide you a new set of rotors that have been cryogenically treated and ship them to you less expensively.
The cost for cryogenic treatment is $56 per rotor. You will be responsible for the shipping to us and the return shipping charges.
Orders for in-stock rotors will ship by next business day (although we try to ship on the same day.) However, if we don't have your application in stock and if there are no custom requests, orders placed by noon (CST) Tuesday will ship on the following Tuesday. And orders received by noon (CST) Friday will ship on the following Friday. Requests for custom cross drilling and/or slotting may require additional time.
Yes. We can cross drill and/or slot your rotors. The cost is $45 per rotor per modification. If both cross drilling and slotting is desired, the cost is $60 per rotor.
Unless specified otherwise, we will ship your purchase via UPS Ground.
Yes. Although we suggest against having your rotors turned for performance reasons, however, the turning process, if done correctly, will not damage or remove the cryogenic treatment.
When you turn rotors you reduce the thickness of the rotor. When you reduce the thickness of the rotor, the operating temperature increases. The consequences of this temperature increase will be increased brake pad wear, increases in the speed of crack growth and you will experience a more rapid onset of brake fade. Therefore we do not recommend having your rotors turned.
Yes. The "Frozen Rotors" are legal in SCCA and in other sanctioning bodies such as PCA Club Racing and BMW Club Racing.
Yes and No. Sorry for such a vague answer but let me explain. Yes, there are others that freeze rotors but that is where the similarity ends.
